These computer programs will run under DOS and Windows (3.x and 95). To
download a program, click on the highlighted title. When the downloaded
executable file (.exe) is run, a setup program will appear and the files will
be uncompressed and placed in a directory on your hard drive.

Poultry Pest Expert System
(PPES). This program is an aid to the diagnosis and
control of insect, mite, and rodent pests in poultry production (on the birds
and in the housing). The file, PPES30.exe is a self-extracting executable. The
program was developed by R.C. Axtell and others at North Carolina State
University. The file is less than 700 KB and will fit on a standard 1.44 Mb
floppy disk.
- Livestock Pest Expert System
(LPES). This program is an aid to the diagnosis and
control of insect, mite, and rodent pests in livestock production (beef, dairy,
swine and sheep). The file, LPES11.exe, is a self-extracting executable. The
program was developed by R.C. Axtell at North Carolina State
University. The file is less than 750 KB and will fit on a standard 1.44 Mb
floppy disk.
- Fly Management
Simulator (FMS). This program calculates populations of the house fly
in confined animal facilities under varying conditions including the presence
of predators and parasites, as well as chemical and cultural control measures.
The file, FMS13.exe, is a self-extracting executable. The program was developed by L. R.
Wilhoit, R. E. Stinner, and R. C. Axtell at North Carolina State
University. The file is less than 450 KB and will fit on a standard 1.44 Mb
floppy disk.
The
source code
is written in C and is also available to
programmers in
self-extracting form. The source code is NOT needed to run FMS and is provided
only as a courtesy to fellow modelers. The source files for the C code do not
include the proprietary user interface.
