2008 Outstanding Elementary/Secondary Teacher Awards

The North Carolina Entomological Society is currently accepting applications and nominations for the 2008 Outstanding Elementary/Secondary Teacher Awards. These awards are given annually in recognition of North Carolina teachers who demonstrate outstanding use of insects or related arthropods in the classroom. Any elementary or secondary teacher (grades K-12) who uses insects in an innovative fashion to inspire and educate students, and who has not received this award within the previous three years is eligible. Award recipients will receive recognition by the N. C. Entomological Society plus monetary support for purchase of entomological equipment such as books, magazines, insect boxes, insect nets, etc. Mail the form below, (post marked no later than May 23, 2008) to John Meyer, Department of Entomology, Campus Box 7613, Raleigh, NC 27695-7613. Each applicant/nominee will be asked to submit detailed descriptions of his/her insect program(s) at a later date. For additional information, contact John Meyer at 919-515-1659.
