2007 BUGFEST A SUCCESS!

Dear BugFest Volunteers:

Once again the NC State Entomology Department and NC Entomological Society have helped to make Bugfest 2007 another huge outreach success. The event ran smoothly, and both the Plaza and indoor activities were bigger and better than ever. The "after hours" Twilight Zone (5-9pm) continues to be well-attended and a big hit. In addition to the 600+ staff and volunteers, attendance was estimated at 26,600 (possibly under counted!) making this the biggest and best BugFest ever!

The NC Museum of Natural Sciences considers Bugfest it's signature annual educational event. Both the museum and the organizing committee work hard to ensure ensure all goes smoothly. However, it is volunteers that bring the knowledge and energy to the exhibits that are the heart of BugFest. We want to thank each and every one of you for the tremendous effort that made the event a success. Many thanks for a job well done, and special thanks to the many of you that arrived early, worked for the full twelve hours, and stayed late to load out. Thank You!

BugFest 2008 has already been scheduled for Saturday, September 20th, 2008. We hope to make it another truly special event, and this can only happen with your support. It has been a pleasure working with you, and we hope you will consider participating at BugFest 2008.

Best regards,

BugFest 2007 Organizing Committee
