Name: Lacewings

Alias: Aphid lion, Chrysopa

Identifying marks: Adults are green or brown with large transparent wings and long antennae. Lays eggs on a stalk. Larvae are alligator-like with large pincer jaws.

Wanted for: Attacking aphids, white flies, and insect eggs. Larvae reported to have eaten 600 aphids during development.

Armed: These insects are predators and the hollow jaws of the larvae can suck the life out of any aphid.
